Don't stand up Stone!

I'm a huge fan of Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens - Liberty Station, as you can tell from this Brewery Project post, and am looking forward to another wonderful experience there tomorrow night with family.  This is the first time I've called in ahead of time, as a party of 8 or more is required to make a dinner reservation.  I was a bit shocked to learn that a credit card is needed to make the reservation, and if you don't show up they will charge your card $100!  On top of that, they will only hold your table for 15 minutes past your reservation time.  I really don't have a problem with this policy, as I never plan on standing up Stone.  Be warned if you do, it's no Stone for you!

  1. Always mixed emotions when restaurants go this route....however, the Dr. office's do it, they are in business to serve people, places get tired of looking at empty tables while "waiting for a party", $100 seems steep but as long as the food remains excellent and the beer, well, how can you mess those up. A sign of the times; demand, demand, demand on both sides of the wort tank :)

    1. Agreed. That's why so many places don't even accept reservations anymore. Although, when you see how busy this location is, I can't imagine they ever suffer from too many empty tables!
