Second hops harvest of the year

I posted about my first hops harvest of the year here, and thought my second harvest would be much smaller.  I was wrong!  The second harvest yielded almost as much as the first, and the hops looked much better.  I can't wait to brew with these beauties!

What ever happened to "The Hops Project"?

You may remember this post from a year ago promising a "pictorial trip" of my first year growing hops.  The hops were grown, harvested, and were used to dry hop a small batch of homebrew.  What didn't happen was the lovely "pictorial trip" that I promised.  I hope to still provide a homage to that journey, but wanted to share a current view of my bines along with my first harvest of the year.  I will get one more small batch of hops before the season ends, but not nearly this volume.  I'll know the true quality of these hops in November.  Once again I say, stay tuned!

The Hops Project

Wanting to take my homebrewing a step further, I decided to try my hand at being a hops farmer. As harvest time approaches, I will take you on a pictorial trip of my growing adventures. If all goes as planned, I will be brewing with my yield in the very near future. Stay tuned!
